RAZZIA - Menschen zu Wasser LP

Zum 25jährigen Bandjubiläum gibt es das dritte RAZZIA-Album von 1989 als
offizielle Nachpressung.

S.O.R. – "SISTEM ORGANIZIRANE REGRESIJE" LP (gatefold) + CD NE! Records

'PUNK IS A VISION OF YOUR PROTEST''

''S.O.R. DO NOT PAY REGARD TO SOCIAL NORMS. THEY REJECT ALL FORMS OF STATE CONSTRAINT AND ARE AGAINST EXPLOITATION, PROFITEERING and RACISM. THEY REJECT VIOLENCE. S.O.R. APPROVE REAL LIFE AND THAT IS WHY THEY REJECT DRUGS. BECAUSE THEY MEAN ESCAPE FROM REALITY. THEY BELIEVE IN GOOD PARTY, WHICH MEANS ONLY PARTY AND NO ESCAPE FROM REALITY. THEIR MUSIC IS FULL OF ENERGY, WITH FREQUENT RHYTHM CHANGES, CHAOS AND MELODIC CHANGES. DO WHAT YOU WANT, BUT DO NOT HARM OTHERS. PUNK IS A VISION OF YOUR PROTEST'' (BIGOR, JAN 2014)

S.O.R. was formed in 1984 and was the first HC band in Idrija, small town in Slovenia. Before they started playing, Idrija had two strong punk bands: KUZLE and SUND, who have made some great tracks on the ex-Yu punk scene. S.O.R did something similar in the HC scene. Between 1984-88, they visited the studio three times where they recorded several demos and managed to play on some of the biggest youth festivals in Ex-Yu. On this LP you can find S.O.R. complete works with all studio and some live-tracks.

TOXOPLASMA - dto. LP
Limitierte farbige LP!

Historical recordings from Johannesburg / South Africa! First punk-band that consisted of black and white members in racist South Africa under the apartheid-regime! Contains the cult-song "Black punk rockers"! Influenced by THE CLASH, BOB MARLEY & THE STOOGES! Mainly political lyrics!

The South Africa of the late 1970s was neither the right place nor time to launch a mixed-race punk band. Yet, following the student-inspired Soweto Uprising of 1976, it was also exactly the right conditions to foster a band like National Wake, one formed in an underground commune, and one whose very name exists in protest at the divisive, racist apartheid regime.

Never before collected together, we are very excited to announce the release National Wake’s full body of work as Walk In Africa 1979-81.Featured heavily in the Punk In Africa documentary, National Wake played punk, reggae and tropical funk, equally at home in the city’s rock underground and the township nightclub circuit. Ivan Kadey started the band with two brothers, Gary and Punka Khoza. The three were from different worlds – while Ivan was an outsider, a Jewish orphan born in the traditional Johannesburg immigrant neighborhood, Gary, Punka and their family were forcibly moved to the troubled township of Soweto under the apartheid regime. Later joined by guitarist Steve Moni, the whole band grew up against a backdrop of township unrest, social upheaval and suburban tedium that characterized apartheid-era South Africa.

National Wake released just one album, in 1981. It sold approximately 700 copies before being withdrawn under government pressure. The band subsequently disintegrated, but their influence could be traced in the racially mixed post-punk underground centered around Rockey Street in Johannesburg throughout the 1980s, their legacy transmitted through fanzines and underground cassette trading. Although their initial reach was localized, a few copies did make it abroad, one of which made it into the hands of John Peel who played it on his influential BBC radio program.

Sadly, Gary and Punka Khoza both passed away in their 40s. Kadey now works as an architect in Los Angeles, but his attention eventually turned back to the band as their legacy grew in the digital era, with the emergence of specialized music websites and Punk In Africa leading to their rediscovery. Czech State Radio memorably described the band as “perhaps the most dissident music scene of the 20th century: a multi-racial punk band in a fascist police state.”

In 2011, Kadey re-released the band’s self-titled album, but spoke about having more than 20 tracks that had never seen the light of day – until now. “All of these recordings put together they speak of the whole evolution of the band,” he has said. “From a sort of naive, almost belief that we could miraculously change everything to realizing what a struggle it was, and what the country was going through and what it would go through.”

WILD YOUTH - Wot 'bout me / Anti you 7"
This was the first South African punk single ever released and is reputedly the most collectible South African release ever. A copy of the original 7" was recently sold on Discogs for 1000 thousand dollars. The B-side is the first song written by the band in mid-1977 and a regular part of the band's set till 1979. Now recently recorded for this release it is absolutely killer. Originally released in a plain white sleeve, the record now comes in a picture sleeve including stunning newly discovered colour photographs from the legendary 'Riot Rock Tour', in 1979. 250 copies only!

GRUPA 92 - Slike preteklosti (LP+EP+CD) on NE! Records!

GRUPA 92 was clearly among the most promising ex-Yu new wave/punk bands. But they ended up being perhaps the most underrated band. Yes, they were almost forgotten. It's hard to grasp that they only released one single and contributed with two songs on a V/A album "Novi punk val" with other ex-yu punk bands, even though they played many gigs and got a lot of attention in media and were played on TV.

This is a collection of all their songs from the years that they were active (1978-83). It's an amazing musical trip of almost 60 minutes and simply P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L!!!!

We renamed ourselves to “92” (after call-number of the police) and started making punk rock songs… “ "92" (2013)

"GRUPA 92 from Ljubljana, anno 1979, was part of the first wave of new bands that burst out of the Pankrti (our Clash/Pistols)-initiated »big bang« of Slovenian/Yugoslav punk with an unprecedented array of musical ideas and explosive energy, but also with messages and social outlook that was different not only from the ideology of the regime's and it's Socialist Youth division, but also from the nichilistic dadaistic fun and »destroy-all« ethics or »white riot« sloganeering of the first Brit-punk. It was somewhat similar to the second, »proletarian punk« wave of Angelic Upstarts and Sham 69, but with a massive difference: it happened in a »Socialist People's Republic«, but outside the Soviet block«- no Soviet troops in Yugo (or American, heh); it had freedom of movement - we all had passports since early 60ies, and a strange but working »socialist market« economy with (small) private property, little unimployment, at least in the federal Republic of Slovenia, free schooling, health care etc.

So punk protest was directed primarily against the drabness and over-regulation of life and culture, »social differences«, lack of freedom of expression; the lyrics, images and attitudes were mocking the one-party »democracy«, prevalent youth conformism, alienation and angst in a »socialist humanist« society... This also goes for Grupa 92: though not quite working class and musically softer they have written one of the first »working stiff« lyrics on their first -and the only- single »Od šestih do dveh« (»From Six to Two O'clock«) -then the industrial working hours. It's staccato ska-punk with electric organ riff was so effectively conveying the drabness of working on a Fordian production line (»pushing buttons/becoming automatons«…) that it became an independent Radio Student (another Slovenian peculiarity) hit but it also got a lot of national airplay - and even a first-ever review in a British newspaper by any Yugo (punk) band- by Chris Bohn in the now defunct Melody Maker.

They would have surely recorded an album for a major if it were not for the draft into the Army that was the scourge of punk bands - and probably a quite deliberate measure of curbing and harassment od the punk movement when it has become quite massive and visible in Slovenian cities in early 80es, with a pinnacle in the punks »occupying« of a central Ljubljana square and re-naming it « Johnny Rotten Square« with an enormous black unerasable grease-paint graffiti ,and then the massive success of the first PANKRTI album »Dolgcajt« (Boredom) and the sold-out Novi rock fest 81/82 where GRUPA 92 were playing after Kuzle (the Bitches), Šund (Cheap music), Indust-bag and Buldogi (Bulldogs) and with Otroci Socializma (Children of socialism), O! Kult (O! Cult) and Kuga (the Pest) in '82 - and around the time of Via Ofenziva (Via Offensiv), Berlinski Zid (the Berlin wall), Gnile Duše (the Rotten souls), Cao Picke (Hello Pussies), Center za dehumanizacijo (Centrum of dehumanization) … and other first post-Pankrtian wave bands. So its great that NE-records is releasing their first-ever album as Grupa 92 are one of the few that hasn't one. Through this and other NE releases an important chapter of Slovenian/Yugo musical history - and one that has also triggered much wider social and even political repercussions in Slovenia/Yugoslavia - will become less unknown to the world. Cheers!Srecno!

This release looks like all other NE! records LPs: gate-fold sleeve, printed inner sleeve and insert with the band history in Slovenian and English. Moreover this release contains 7'' EP with 4 studio tracks from the band's latest studio recording. 800 copies of the LP+EP were made (300 black/ 200 green/200yellow/100 red) and 500 come with a CD!

INDUST-BAG - Zavrzena Mladost (LP+CD) on NE! Records!

INDUST-BAG is a band from Metlika, a small community on the edge of Slovenia. As early as after their first gig in Ljubljana INDUST-BAG attracted a lot of attention with their interesting sound. It resulted in being able to record their first demo very early on and they had a very strong performance at Novi rock, the biggest musical festival in Slovenia, in 1981. They contributed with four songs to VA “Lepo je…” LP with other new (second generation) Slovenian punk bands, that was pretty much all they had time to do before they all, one by one, had to join the military.

They continued to play, in fact they are still active today, although the band's first years were never taken care of, nothing of the bands material (except for “Lepo je…”) was ever released. It's a shame that some of the band's earliest songs never made it to a studio, and was lost to us. Yet, on this release we have managed to gather some of the band's gems that they were able to save. On this LP you will, among other things, find the unreleased first demo, consisting out of three songs as well as one song that was supposed to be on “Lepo je…” and the band powerful live performance from '81 and '82 in very good condition.

All songs are remastered! Awesome sound - the guys from aBox studio have done it again!

“I still clearly recall the first encounter with Indust-bag live in 1980 that Goran mentions, including the urge to talk to them then and there: they were musically the strongest new punk band I've seen since Paraf a year earlier, playing more tightly than other bands (Pankrti the pioneers included) - and they were the youngest! Indust-bag were truly one of the frontmen of the first generation of post-Pankrtian Slovenian/Yugoslav punk, and with Kuzle and Šund from the quicksilver mining town of Idrija the strongest symbols of punk's omnipresence and universal inspirative power-and attractiveness for audiences, as they all proved in front of an over-capacity 5000-strong crowd of the first Novi Rock fest in the Ljubljana Monastery Križanke Auditorium in 1981. The rest is punk/alternative history (as the mainstrem writers don't say). I-bag (hey, a cool spoof of the I-tech craze or what?) have been its protagonists all through the 80ties , in spite of the Army harassment of band members (I'm sure just as intentional in most cases as the police one). Beacause of them Metlika, the border town with old warrior »Vojna krajina« roots was one of the centres of Slovenian punk/alternative scene and a great partying place for us. (Ok, there were also some very nice and-to this day-very creative girls too, not to mention the wine).

Lots of gratitude to Igor Vidmar for his support and, not to forget, his authentic text about the band! This release looks like all other NE! LP's: gatefold sleeve and printed inner-sleeve + 2 printed inserts. 800 copies of LP were pressed (300 black/ 200 red / 200 blue/ 100 clear). 500 come with a CD.
